Douglas A. Lange
A partner in the firm, Douglas A. Lange concentrates his practice in the areas of casualty defense, large loss recovery/subrogation, construction defects and the defense of contractors, architects and engineers. Â Mr. Lange has experience in the areas of automobile negligence, transportation law, professional negligence and has represented plaintiffs in a variety of personal injury matters. Â HeÂ also represents the worldâ€™s largest collector car auction in a variety of matters, including dispute resolution, contract enforcement, litigation, and trademark registration.
Mr. Lange has extensive litigation experience and has resolved numerous six and seven figure cases through direct negotiation, mediation and arbitration. He has also tried numerous cases to verdict in both federal and state courts throughout the country.Â He obtained a defense verdict in a legal malpractice claim in which plaintiffs sought more than $10 million after their nationally established brokerage firm was permanently expelled from the NFA.Â Mr. Lange obtained a unanimous jury verdict in favor of his insurance client and itâ€™s insured in a complex property subrogation case against a local utility and a prominent contractor in federal court in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Mr. Lange earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1989 where he founded the Pre-Law Society. While at UW Milwaukee he interned in Washington D.C. He obtained his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago, School of Law in 1993, where he was the recipient of numerous academic and leadership awards. At Loyola, he competed on the Wagner Moot Court Team and was the student liaison and attended Loyolaâ€™s programs in Rome, Italy and London, England.
Mr. Lange is authorized to practice law in Illinois and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, the Central District of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana.Â He has also represented clients in matters pending in state and federal courts in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Mr. Lange is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) and Claims Litigation Management (CLM).Â Mr. Lange worked on the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organization Committee and remains a member of the LAOOC Alumni Association.
