Matthew P. Fortin
A partner in the firm, Matthew P. Fortin concentrates his practice in first-party property insurance disputes. Â His experience includes the preparation and litigation of catastrophe-related first-party property claims, unfair claim practices suits, builderâ€™s risk claims, and appellate practice. Â Mr. Fortinâ€™s expertise is in the interpretation and analysis of first-party property insurance policies. Â He brings a well-rounded insight and perspective to his current practice from having previously represented policyholders in first-party insurance disputes.
Mr. Fortin earned his B.A. degree,Â cum laude, from the University of Richmond in 2005 and his J.D. degree,Â cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2008.
Mr. Fortin is authorized to practice law in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal.
Mr. Fortin is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Â He is a Vice Chair of the ABAâ€™s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Property Insurance Law Committee.
