Ronald D. Puhala

Ronald D. Puhala focuses his practice to litigation representing major national and international insurance companies on various types of claims, including general liability, product liability, first-party property coverage, environmental contamination, asbestos injury, and business  interruption matters. In addition, he has significant experience representing primary and excess carriers in complex coverage litigation; representing insurance carriers in bad faith claims; handling reinsurance disputes between insurance carriers; and representing policyholders by providing counsel regarding the scope and nature of coverage.


Mr. Puhala received his B.A., degree, highest honors, from Rutgers University in1980, Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work, M.S.W., 1982, Boston University, Postgraduate Certificate in Child
Treatment, 1982 , and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, 1991.

Mr. Puhala was a law clerk to the Honorable Ronnie A. Yorder, Federal Administrative Law Judge in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Puhala is authorized to practice law in New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey District of Columbia and New York.

Professional Associations

Mr. Puhala has been selected for inclusion on multiple occasions on both the New Jersey Super Lawyers list for insurance coverage and the Best Lawyers in America list for insurance law. He has presented seminars on insurance topics including, most recently, coverage issues related to computer hacking and cyber claims.
