Kuiken concentrates his practice in the areas of products liability, breach of contract, breach of warranty, construction litigation, medical malpractice defense, first party property coverage, and loss recovery/subrogation. He also has experience in the areas of automobile negligence, premises liability, qui tam claims, financial litigation, regulatory and securities advisory matters, and insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Kuiken’s subrogation practice has involved large losses in a wide variety of settings including electrical and mechanical failures, and construction negligence on a national basis.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Kuiken has served as lead trial counsel in multiple negligence cases where he secured very favorable outcomes on behalf of his transportation and premises clients.  Mr. Kuiken has also represented governmental entities in litigation matters, including securing a very favorable outcome while serving as second chair trial counsel defending a governmental entity in a construction negligence matter were plaintiffs sought in excess of $20 million in damages.   

Prior to law school, Mr. Kuiken worked in television as a sportscaster for ABC and FOX affiliates in Tennessee and Louisiana.

Education
Mr. Kuiken earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2003 and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007.
