Mr. Buchanan earned his B.A. degree from Bradley University in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.

Mr. Buchanan is authorized to practice law in Illinois and in various U.S. District Courts in many states.

Mr. Buchanan is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the American Bar Association subcommittees for property insurance and insurance coverage and is a frequent author and lecturer on insurance-related topics. He is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
