Overview

Hart Schwartz concentrates his practice in civil litigation, drawing on a diverse legal background. He is adept in guiding clients through matters in litigation at all stages of trial, including extensive motion practice such as summary judgment, petitions and opposition to orders to show cause.

Hart has appeared regularly in court, skillfully conducting oral arguments, negotiating stipulations and participating in pretrial conferences. He also has experience in mediation, depositions and settlement negotiation across a range of civil matters.

Prior to joining Foran Glennon, Hart gained experience at a landlord-tenant law firm, a labor and employment law firm and at public-service legal aid organizations, evolving his litigation practice with cases involving landlord-tenant, employment, family law and disability law disputes.

Before starting his career as an attorney, Hart worked as a research consultant, where he provided analysis on a variety of topics, including transportation, urban planning and fuel and as data analyst with the Federal Trade Commission. He authored a book on the history of the urbanization of the United States, for a national think tank involving a coalition of public and private sector companies and organizations.

Hart is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Education

Hart earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2021. Prior to that, he received his M.B.A in International Business from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business in 2012 after completing his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yeshiva University in 2006.

While in law school, Hart served as a legal extern at the Onondaga County Department of Law, where he performed research to support legislation regarding municipal and tax law, as well as a pro bono student attorney at a Syracuse bankruptcy clinic and an immigration law intern at the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Central New York. In these roles, he researched relevant statutory law as well as filed bankruptcy and interviewed clients regarding their immigration status, respectively.
