Overview
A shareholder in the firm, Joseph Szalyga concentrates his practice in the areas of general and professional liability defense and subrogation.
Joseph is routinely called upon to defend property owners, contractors and other commercial clients through trial in bodily injury cases arising from construction, trucking and premises liability accidents. Joseph has also defended manufacturers, distributors and sellers in state and federal product liability matters.
He also has extensive experience in coordinating investigations in high exposure property damage cases, including fires, explosions, structural collapses and matters involving damage to adjacent structures during demolition, excavation, underpinning and construction.
Additionally, Joseph has prosecuted and tried numerous subrogation matters ranging from simple fires and floods to complex boiler and machinery losses. He has directly handled several seven figure recoveries.

Joseph is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association.
Honors & Recognition
Joseph was included on the New York Super Lawyer Rising Star list from 2012 to 2018. The Rising Star designation is an honor bestowed on only 2.5% of the total attorneys under the age of 40 in New York.

Education
Joseph earned his B.A. degree in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University in 2000 and his J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2003.

Joseph is authorized to practice law in New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
