Lorne Hiller concentrates his practice on matters involving first-party property insurance coverage and litigation. His experience includes business and commercial litigation, labor law disputes and insurance defense. Lorne draws from a variety of experiences in the legal industry to offer clients a creative and personalized approach to their needs.
In addition to his litigation practice, Lorne has experience counseling clients on copyright and intellectual property matters in the entertainment industry.
Prior to joining Foran Glennon, he served as a Judicial Fellow for the Honorable Gordon P. Gallagher of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. As an associate attorney in a regional civil litigation firm, he gained an extensive understanding of litigation in both state and federal courts, litigating cases in areas such as insurance defense, business and contract disputes and real estate matters.
Lorne has been involved with the United States Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program since 2016 where he served as a mentor and coach for various university Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration teams in Afghanistan, Jordan and Myanmar.
He is also a member and former board member of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the Utah Defense Lawyers Association.
Lorne served as a member of the Mesa County Search and Rescue Ground Team in Grand Junction, Colorado, and a member of Community Hospital’s Foundation Board.

Lorne earned his B.S. degree in International Affairs and Economics from Florida State University in 2013 and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2016.
While in law school, Lorne served as co-captain for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team when he was awarded Best Oralist Honorable Mention and Top 16 Finalist in Hong Kong and was a finalist in San Diego. He was also the Executive Editor of the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy and participated in the International Law Society as a 1L Representative and the Chair of Lectures. He also worked for the Honorable Robert L. McGahey in Colorado’s Second Judicial District, as well as the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General at Buckley Air Force Base.
Lorne is licensed to practice in Colorado, Utah, Tennessee, the United States District Courts for the District of Colorado, the District of Utah and the Middle District of Tennessee, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
