Tat-Yeung Shiu focuses his practice in construction law, commercial litigation, tort defense and product liability defense.
He represents product manufacturers and general contractors in a variety of product liability lawsuits as well as construction delay and defect cases. Tat also has experience negotiating construction contracts for private and institutional owners.
Prior to joining Foran Glennon, he worked as a professional architect in the Chicago area for over a decade and was a registered architect in the state of Illinois and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Clients in the construction space benefit from Tat’s unique experience, including his LEED Professional accreditation.
Tat is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Tat served on SGA Youth & Family Services’ board of directors from 2013 to 2015. When his schedule allows, he volunteers at the legal clinic of the Chinese American Service League located in Chicago’s Chinatown.

Tat earned his J.D. from Chicago Kent School of Law in 2011.
Prior to pursuing his law degree, he received both a B.S. and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan.
Tat is authorized to practice law in Illinois and Indiana in addition to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
