Susan N.K. Gummow will share insights on the pitfalls and benefits insurers face in mass tort bankruptcies at the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors’ (AIRA) 18th Annual Advanced Restructuring & Plan of Reorganization Conference in New York on November 18.
Susan will discuss bankruptcy settlements, policy buy back issues and third party releases, settlement dynamics with multiple years of exposure and excess layers of coverage, establishment of settlement trusts to handle claims and solution planning in for-profit and not-for-profit business settings.
AIRA is a nonprofit professional association with the mission of uniting and supporting professionals providing business turnaround, restructuring and bankruptcy services. The organization’s Annual Conference is a forum presenting legal and financial perspectives on developments in bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring.
Susan is a partner at the firm and concentrates her practice in general commercial matters including bankruptcy, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. This combination of experience has resulted in a niche practice area for her representing insurance companies confronted with a full array of bankruptcy issues.
