Brian Hallett concentrates his practice on insurance coverage matters, supporting clients through every step of the claims and litigation process. He advises insurers on coverage claims, including liability exclusions and BIPA matters and litigates cases in defense of policyholders in various civil actions. He is adept in drafting motions, conducting deposition and has represented clients in multiple state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Brian previously worked for a boutique Chicago insurance firm, focusing on coverage and defense matters. Previously, Brian served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, focusing his practice on civil litigation, where he gained experience in defending the county from Section 1983, personal injury, medical liability and premises liability cases.
Brian utilizes his strong trial experience alongside his background in multiple fields of the law to offer his clients comprehensive advice and thorough representation through all stages of a claim.

Brian is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Education
Brian earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2023 after completing his B.A. in 2019 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
While in law school, Brian served as a law clerk for the Chicago Transit Authority, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. He was also the deputy editor of The State of Criminal Justice 2021 and a founder of the Criminal Law Society at the University of Chicago School of Law.
