Overview

Anthony Kudron concentrates his practice on bankruptcy law and civil litigation, representing the insurance and financial service industries in various bankruptcy cases and adversary proceedings. He provides counsel on Chapter 11, 12 and 13 reorganization plans, develops effective recovery strategies and adeptly handles motions for relief and objections to confirmation of plans in court, including oral arguments.

Prior to joining the firm, Anthony served as a bankruptcy attorney at two Chicago law firms. Throughout these positions, he assisted both institutions and individuals and managed large caseloads, including at one point, over 1,000 active bankruptcy cases. Additionally, Anthony served as an assistant attorney general at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where he acted as lead trial counsel for civil rights and disability claims cases and exceled in drafting successful motions to dismiss and defending depositions.

Education

Anthony earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2012, where he was presented with the CALI Award for Administrative Law and the Alvin A. Baum Public Service Fellowship, after graduating cum laude from Loyola University Chicago in 2009 with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy-Social Justice.

While in law school, Anthony gained valuable experience through various clerkships and externships, including serving as a judicial extern for Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he drafted bench memoranda surrounding employment discrimination issues. He additionally worked as a legal extern at the Chicago Transit Authority’s Office of the General Counsel, where he conducted depositions, investigated claims of employment discrimination and drafted legal briefs, including that of an appellate brief, regarding cases involving labor, employment, civil and workers’ compensation disputes. Anthony also clerked at national and Illinois LGBTQ nonprofits and organizations, assisting with research and drafting legal memoranda, educational materials and best employment practice manuals.

Anthony is authorized to practice law in Illinois and is admitted to several federal courts, including the U.S. District & Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
