Overview
Katie Aumiller concentrates her practice in the area of property insurance. She has experience drafting appellate opinions, legal memoranda and motions for summary judgment; preparing oral arguments; reviewing contracts related to indemnification and limitation of liability provisions and conducting in-depth research on complex state and federal laws.
Prior to joining Foran Glennon, Katie gained experience in civil, criminal and employment law in the Supreme Court of Maryland as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia, a judicial intern for the Honorable Dan Friedman of the Appellate Court of Maryland, a law clerk for an employment agency as well as a summer associate for a trial and appellate boutique firm in Washington, D.C.
Professional Leadership
Katie is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Defense Counsel.
Education
Katie earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2022 after completing her B.A. in Economics with minors in Business Legal Studies and Political Science from Miami University in 2019.
While in law school, Katie received CALI Awards for scoring the highest grades in Contract Drafting as well as Law & Economics. She also served as a research assistant, member of the Latinx Law Students Association and a volunteer for the criminal defense clinic: National Federal Bailwatching Project.
At Miami, Katie served as a student ambassador for the University Honors Program and as the publicity chair for the National Society for Leadership and Success. She was also a member of the Amicus Curiae Pre-Law Society and the Ohio Innocence Project.

Katie is authorized to practice in Illinois and Maryland.
