Overview

Nancy Coulverson concentrates her practice on casualty defense and construction defense and has experience with medical malpractice defense and complex liability cases. She is skilled in the pre-trial process, such as reviewing summons and complaints for newly filed cases, drafting answers and acknowledgment letters for clients, handling general upkeep of cases and reviewing medical records. She has served in a wide array of industries, from financial groups and regulatory departments to pharmaceutical wholesalers.

Prior to joining the firm, Nancy had several internships, such as the New York City Bar Diversity Fellowship Program, that gave her hands-on experience with conducting legal research, drafting contract amendments, attending depositions and shadowing attorneys in many different practices of the law. Her broad experience has granted her a comprehensive understanding of the pre-trial process and a well-rounded view of her client’s issues.

Community Leadership

After Hurricane Harvey, Nancy volunteered with Rebuilding Together – Houston and non-profits to work on the demolition and mold treatment on homes in the area. She has also volunteered with New York Cares working in food banks, and with the Ronald McDonald House, serving breakfast to those in need.

Education

Nancy earned her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2023 after completing her B.A. with a double major in Gender Sexuality & Intersectionality Studies and Economics in 2020 from Connecticut College.

While in law school, Nancy was the vice president and founding member of the Women of Color Collective and served as an intern for various New York firms and institutions where she gained exposure to medical malpractice, general liability, labor and employment, real estate, bankruptcy, municipal law, life sciences, private investment funds and litigation matters.
