Overview
Michael Bishop concentrates his practice in insurance coverage litigation, insurance defense, reinsurance, and complex commercial litigation involving multi-million-dollar claims. With experience spanning state and federal courts throughout the United States, Michael brings a thorough command of coverage disputes, declaratory relief actions, and a wide range of liability defense matters to every engagement. Clients rely on his meticulous preparation and communication to navigate complex litigation.
Michael advises national and global insurance companies on coverage questions arising under commercial general liability, professional liability, directors and officers, builders’ risk, workers’ compensation, and numerous other insurance policies. His defense experience comprises of product liability, construction liability, medical malpractice, toxic tort, premises liability, and transportation liability, including high-profile matters involving wrongful death and opioid litigation.
Prior to joining Foran Glennon, Michael gained a deep background in litigation at prominent Chicago-area firms, where he handled cases involving insurance and civil liability matters, corporate law, and commercial disputes in courts across the country.

Education
Michael earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2018 after completing his B.A.S. in 2014 from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he graduated cum laude.
While in law school, Michael served as a member of the Appellate Moot Court Society, where he held a position on the Executive Board as Director of Team Management.
Admissions
Michael is authorized to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
