Foran Glennon is pleased to welcome Associates Justin Berg, Michael Bishop, Daniel James, and Hamna Syed to the firm’s Sacramento, Chicago, and San Jose offices.
Based in the Sacramento office, Justin’s practice centers on general commercial litigation, drawing on experience across a broad range of civil and criminal matters to apply strategy grounded in the legal, financial, and practical realities of each case. Before joining Foran Glennon, Justin handled civil litigation and defense, real estate disputes, business disputes, fraud, breach of contract, personal injury claims, and criminal defense at a Sacramento-area law firm, where he also took a supervisory role overseeing the firm’s law clerks.
Michael joins the firm’s Chicago office, bringing a breadth of experience that ranges from insurance defense to complex commercial litigation matters. Michael advises national and global insurance companies on coverage questions arising under numerous insurance policies. He approaches each engagement with a command of coverage disputes, declaratory relief actions, and liability defense that clients rely on. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at other prominent Chicago-area firms handling insurance and civil liability matters, community association and corporate law, and commercial disputes in courts across the country.
Daniel concentrates on insurance coverage and complex commercial litigation, including matters involving commercial general liability, cyber insurance, Directors and Officers coverage, and professional liability issues. He brings a strong track record in high-exposure, multi-jurisdictional matters, having overseen cases at a national scale across more than thirty states. Before joining Foran Glennon, Daniel served as national coordinating counsel for a Fortune 100 company and earlier worked as a Legislative Aide in the Ohio House of Representatives. He is based in the Chicago office and assists the London office.
Based in San Jose, Hamna concentrates her practice on commercial litigation. She has experience with medical malpractice matters, as well as complex lawsuits that have resulted in multi-million-dollar verdicts. Her background in plaintiff-side litigation informs how she anticipates and counters opposing counsel’s approaches. Before joining Foran Glennon, Hamna gained experience at prominent personal injury and civil litigation firms throughout California, where she managed discovery, mediations, and preparation for settlement and trial.
