John Eggum Returns to PLRB Claims Conference to Address Complex Causation Issues in Disputed Property Claims

Foran Glennon shareholder John Eggum will discuss complex causation issues related to disputed property claims at the 2024 Property & Liability Resource Bureau (PLRB) Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo. The session, titled “Complex Causation Issues in Disputed Property Claims” will take place on Monday, March 18 at 10:30 – 12:00pm ET and Tuesday, March 19 at 1:30 – 3:00pm ET in Boston, MA.

John will be joined by Linda King, Vice President of North America Property Claims at Sompo International for the two-day session. Together, they will:

  • Analyze policy provisions addressing causation, such as anti-concurrent causation provisions and ensuing loss provisions, and trends in how courts have interpreted these provisions
  • Evaluate complex causation issues and problems of proof that can impact outcomes in disputed claims
  • Identify causation-related coverage determinations, from initial investigation to communicating coverage decisions
  • Compare multiple causes, proximate cause, anti-concurrent causation and ensuing/resulting loss causation issues
